Schuller graduated from Hope College in 1947 and Western Theological Seminary in 1950. In 1955 he started a drive-in Church at an old concession stand in California. His brand of possibility thinking became very popular, allowing him to begin a weekly, nationally televised religious program entitled the "Hour of Power" and to build the architecturally impressive Crystal Cathedral. Voskuil graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1966 and from Western Theological Seminary in 1969. He received a Ph. D. from Harvard University in 1974.
